Exclusive interview with Olivia Pflaumer

Olivia video

Olivia Pflaumer presented research she conducted on the presence of pollen in honey at The Big E opening day.

While at The Big E, I met an aspiring young student from Zane Trace High School – Chillicothe, OH.
She conducted research comparing pollen found in conventional store bought honey, vs. local honey from her apiary back in OH.

This was an exclusive interview for

Supplying content for The Big E!

Today was a long day.

I was asked if I could help with any visuals from the Vice President of the beekeeping club here in Western MA for the Big E event.

I was riding around to different printers getting these 50 prints made for the two beekeeping booths.

They wanted to display my work under plexiglass on the surfaces of two boots at the Big E, where thousands of people will see them during the event!

All in all, it was around 25miles of riding to get these prints made, and I wouldn’t have been able to do so without my Gomacro Macrobars help!

Thank you Gomacro!

NatGeo’s advisors selected my work to showcase on their homepage!

Of all the videos submitted into National Geographic’s contest, my video was chosen by NatGeo’s advisors to be placed in their “Excite” section of their Expedition Granted homepage!

My thumbnail for my video is clear and colorful with an interesting perspective compared to the neighboring videos on each side. Hopefully my thumbnail will entice others to land on my work when visiting the Expedition Granted homepage.

I am so excited!
Thank you all for helping me spread the word!

Keep sharing my video on your social sites from within my video page on NatGeo’s website.
Don’t forget to vote for my video once daily from Sept 16th – 29th / 2014.

Thank you to all my sponsors for supporting my cause to bring about a greater awareness in saving the bees.

NatGeo here I come!

This past few weeks I have been so busy getting a video in order so that I may enter it into National Geographic’s Expedition Granted Contest for a $50k giveaway.

The work for this video consisted of:
-Reading and understanding fully the rules and terms for the contest entry.
-From there, writing the perfect script for my pitch to National Geographic.
-Scouting for the perfect location to shoot my video.
-Rehearsing my prepared speech for the camera and storyboarding ideas.
-Arriving on set at sunrise and setting up gear to shoot my video.
-Editing the video and splicing in footage collected over time.
-Writing to NatGeo’s judges explaining why they should choose me.

And all of this was done alone as a one man team.
I aim to inspire the world what can be done with a little imagination, a lot of passion and dedication, and $0.00 budget.

Thank you to all my hero sponsors for supplying me with gear and supplies towards saving the bees! I am honored they are on board with this mission to help save the bees through spreading awareness!
